About Todd Young

Dr. Todd Kevin Young is a dedicated physician, entrepreneur, and healthcare innovator with over two decades of experience improving medical services across Newfoundland and Labrador. As the Medical Director of Main Street Medical Clinic and CEO of Medicuro Virtual Health Inc, Dr. Young has been at the forefront of advancing rural healthcare, virtual medicine, and addiction treatment. Starting his career as a registered nurse, Dr. Young pursued further medical training and earned his MD from McMaster University in 2004, completing a residency in rural family medicine. Over the years, he has expanded his expertise with additional qualifications, including an Executive MBA in Occupational Health and Safety and ongoing studies in dermatology at Cardiff University. Dr. Young has served in numerous leadership roles, including as Physician Lead at the Green Bay Health Center and as Medical Director for Valley Vista Seniors Home. His innovative contributions include founding Newfoundland and Labrador’s first rapid access addictions program and establishing satellite clinics across the province to provide immediate care for individuals struggling with substance use. Additionally, he has pioneered a distributed occupational health and safety (OHS) model, ensuring accessible workplace health services. A passionate educator, Dr. Young has mentored future healthcare professionals at Memorial University and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. His dedication to rural health has earned him accolades such as a Fellowship in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada and a Fellowship in Rural and Remote Health from the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada. He was also a nominee for the 2020 Human Rights Award for his work in addiction and mental health advocacy. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Young is deeply committed to his community. He actively supports youth sports, donates to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and contributes to The Gathering Place, a local homeless shelter.
