About Tom Allison

I have considerable education and experience in the methodologies for capturing and communicating the cognitive models of users, as well as their goals and motivations, and understanding their context-of-use in order to better design products and services in an Agile product team environment. My most recent positions have all been at the level of team leadership with an emphasis on integrating design in the product team’s workflow. I very much prefer a style of leadership that involves coaching and mentoring rather than controlling and take the most pleasure from enabling strong whole team efforts that are successful in simultaneously addressing business, user and technology concerns. My strengths include extensive experience in a variety of product contexts, natural empathy and strong interpersonal skills for supporting communication and collaboration between business, design and developer interests to produce widely adopted (i.e, successful) user-centered solutions.
