About Tom Couch

Based in Melbourne, Australia, I’m a high-performance manager with 15+ years of experience. My professional career began as an athlete in the AFL, playing for the Melbourne Football Club and winning the Club Best & Fairest at Casey Demons Football Club in the VFL. I began my coaching career as senior coach of the North Launceston Football Club, winning the 2017 premiership. In 2018 I transitioned to Tennis. As physical performance manager at Tennis Australia, I trained athletes in the Davis Cup, Fed Cup and National Wheelchair team. During that time, I worked with players such as Alex de Minaur, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Jordan Thompson, Max Purcell, Jason Kubler, Dylan Alcott, Heath Davison, Ash Barty and Daria Gravilova. As the founder of Grand Slam Performance, Couch manages an online high-performance coaching platform, which is focused on training for athletes of all ages and abilities across multiple sports, mainly AFL and tennis. He also manages programs where he collaborates with tennis coaches and teams to provide a specialized program that helps develop athletes’ physical, mental and emotional well-being.
