Background
About Tom Dhanis
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication -Leonardo Da Vinci- After several years of experience in an operational environment within Elia, I started in 2016 as Operations Manager at Ivarem. Main objectives of the departement- Operational management for the residential waste collection and transport to the different recycling and treatment companies- Exploitation of 12 local collecting sites (container farm) to facilitate pre-grading of different waste segments- Logistics of the rolling stock (availibility, maintenance, upgrades.)- Innovation of operational methods for waste collection in order to meet new customer needs at acceptable cost (activities funded via local taxes). Since 2022 I started teaching ‘Waste Logistics’ at the Thomas More Businesschool (3BA Supply Chain Mgmt). This opportunity allows me to share my operational knowledge and experiences with the future professionals whilst gaining new skills in Learning and Teaching.
