About Tom Dwyer

A finance professional I started my career in Halifax, NS with Ford Credit in 1993. A promotion saw me move to Edmonton, AB a year later. An opportunity in Calgary in 1996 brought me to CIBC Finance Inc where I supervised the credit team for Western Canada before moving into a sales position responsible for Southern Alberta in 1998. With the closure of CIBC Finance in I moved to Chrysler Financial where I worked until 2007. During my time with CF I worked in retail credit, dealer credit, sales (SK, MB & NWO, Interior BC & Vancouver Island), and Commercial Finance as Western Commercial Finance Options MGR before becoming the Senior Dealer Relations MGR. After a number of years successfully building relationships and our commercial portfolio I came back into the Business Centre as Team Lead Retail Credit/New Business and finished my time as the Centre Administration Manager. In 2007 the retail world was calling and I left CF to spend the next 3 years as Lease Manager then Finance Manager at Varsity Chrysler in Calgary. The team I worked with was very supportive and the practical dealer experience I earned has proven invaluable. In mid 2010 I decided I needed more time with family and moved back into the corporate world initially as Regional Manager for the Commercial Auto Group of RBC and following the Ally Canada acquisition as the VP of the combined Auto Finance Group in AB. Later a focus on large commercial business saw me move into the VP National Accounts role for Western Canada where I was able to support some of Canada’s largest automotive groups with their M&A strategies. After a number of years successfully growing the business at RBC I felt a new challenge calling so stepped back into retail as the General Manager of Crowfoot Dodge. This was a great experience and an opportunity to work with a wonderful automotive family. With the sale of Crowfoot in 2024 I was able to take the opportunity to travel and spend time with family and friends. More recently the desire to reengage my business side has seen me take on a new challenge as the Operations Manager at RYDE Financial. As a specialized lender to the power sports industry this will be a new experience, and I believe in the vision of Mark and team and am excited to become part of their growth journey.
