About Tom Edwards

I'm a reporter with an 19-year track record in the industry - including 12 years' specialist experience across three regional daily newspapers and published work in some of Britain's biggest national titles including the Daily Mirror, Guardian and Daily Express. I'm currently a broadcast journalist at BBC Hereford & Worcester - you can hear my work on BBC Sounds, on our radio station, or read it online. I'm a highly motivated, driven self-starter, educated to MA level with senior NCTJ journalism qualifications (NCE). I am also an awardee of The Guardian's Scott Trust Bursary and studied politics at degree level and journalism as a postgraduate. Prior to moving into broadcasting, most of my writing work was on the politics beat - I've covered several General Elections as a senior, specialist writer and interviewed leading national politicians - from Prime Ministers and Cabinet secretaries downwards. I have been shortlisted four times in the Midlands Media Awards; for reporter of the year, scoop of the year twice and columnist of the year.
