Experienced and passionate practitioner of Leadership, Change, and Inclusion. Many consultants are available to help you develop strategic plans and reorganizations. But planning and best practices do not in themselves produce innovation and change. Planning and best practices do not advance human evolution, nor improve the human condition. Only dialogic processes that lead to alignment and collaboration are capable of producing meaningful innovation. The solutions are already in the system, as Marvin Weisbord reminds us, and only those inside the system can discover them - and only then if those inside the system share and connect and listen and learn and discover effectively together. How do you accomplish this? It depends entirely on the organization and the people, and the relationships, knowledge, and context in which they operate. There is no formula other than to focus on shared purpose and relationships. The steps and sequence cannot be determined in advance; they are revealed during the course of the journey. The only outcomes that can be predicted as the journey begins are surprise and change. Too few leaders and boards are willing to "work with intention into the unknowable" unless they have the courage to seek surprise and change - the courage to transcend their current situation to accomplish something really big. Although I am “retired” I welcome the opportunity to work with courageous leaders and organizations doing good work – projects of the heart – as they connect with each other and share information and look within themselves for inspiration, growth, and innovation. Emergent leadership can produce spectacular results. I would be most willing to walk with you as your organization works with intention towards transformative social change.
