About Tom Fejes

Experienced Project Manager/Computer Graphic Artist with 24 years of experience working in feature motion pictures and a strong technical/engineering background. While my most recent experience is working in the feature film industry I have worked in a variety of engineering and design related businesses in my career. In all of these different positions I’ve demonstrated strong skills in- Successfully managing important and time-sensitive projects under tight budget and time constraints - Developed clever and unique solutions to critical problems - Worked with clients/directors to implement their vision and communicate that information to the staff in an efficient and accurate way- Performed bidding, crewing and scheduling of work for major motion pictures. In my time at Industrial Light and Magic, I was noted for having achieved the following- Started as a Technical Assistant and worked my way up to Computer Graphic Supervisor managing the rendering crew and resources for feature films- Designed and implemented company wide generic setups for rendering with the latest proprietary in-house rendering tool- Implemented new rendering engine for use on a major motion picture. Worked involved creating new standards, settings, tools and methods for producing feature film quality images- Won the 2007 Visual Effects Society award for the Best Single Visual Effect of the Year for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest - Nominated for 2014 Visual Effects Society award for Outstanding Models in a Feature Motion Picture (Star Trek Into Darkness) In addition, I have a strong engineering background. I earned an electrical engineering degree from MIT, but have also done some work in the mechanical, civil and structural engineering fields. I have extensive experience producing engineering drawings (both hand drafted as well as CAD) and have worked on-site with construction teams in a variety of environments to ensure that designs are properly followed. I realize that my recent work experience is probably a bit unusual, but I believe my strong problem solving and organizational skills would make me a valuable addition to your organization.
