About Tom Ford
Patient-centred Interventional Cardiologist living on the Central Coast of NSW. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland and attended the University of Dundee graduating with the University Medal (Captain WA Low Prize 2007). Dr Ford emigrated to Australia 2010 after gaining the MRCP at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh. He completed advanced cardiology training in Sydney 2015 at Prince of Wales and St George Hospitals. In 2019, he returned from a three-year fellowship and PhD studies in Glasgow (University of Glasgow & Golden Jubilee National Hospital). Dr Ford offers minimally invasive treatments for heart disease and is the current Australian National Young Ambassador to EAPCI (European Association for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention), the NSW cardiology representative for the RACP advanced training committee and is a Fellow of the Cardiac Society for Australia/New Zealand (FCSANZ). His PhD on Angina focused on invasive coronary physiology and was awarded the Bellahouston Medal by the University of Glasgow. He is an invited speaker with faculty roles at the major cardiology scientific sessions including the American Heart Association (AHA), European Society of Cardiology (ESC), EuroPCR, and Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT in USA).
