About Tom Garside

I lead teams to deliver technology solutions within complex infrastructure developments and transform transport operations through digital and data. Complex Infrastructure: I have 25 years’ experience in the transport sector, defining and delivering technology for complex infrastructure programmes, managing budgets up to £220m. As well as leading some challenging programmes, I have developed strategy, regulatory business plans and shaped portfolios of projects for infrastructure operational businesses. Business Transformation: I have led transformation programmes, delivering technology, people and process change, including transforming operational planning and sponsoring a capacity optimisation programme. I deliver business outcomes, through understanding the business problem, defining the operational model and business requirements, and exploiting the right technology, whilst driving the business change to realise the benefits. Digital & Data: I have led an award-winning programme to transform airport operations, to improve passenger service, efficiency, and resilience, through digital transformation to become a ‘smart’ airport. I am also experienced in leading analytics to improve performance and make decisions, including the development of visualisations, predictions, and simulations, and have also developed data governance frameworks, to drive better use of data.
