About Tom Hesketh

Customer focused, highly empathetic, passionate, creative problem solver with an inability to write a good LinkedIn headline and summary! I am part of the Campus Support Security department of Edge Hill University, which is far more than just normal security! I get to make a difference and help people by providing them with first aid, mental health support, advice, conflict resolution and so many other things. I have a background in retail and restaurants, and have been in customer faced roles for my entire working life. With my previous employer Netto UK, I worked my way up from a Core Player to Team Leader and this showed me how much I love to help, support and teach others. My goal is to send someone home from any interaction feeling as positive as possible. I am currently doing an Institute of Leadership and Management level 5 qualification, and recently completed courses in manual handling, sexual violence response and mental health support. I was also one of only twelve people this year to be selected to attend Edge Hill University Facilities Managment's special event 'Method in the MADness: Making a Difference' When not working, I love to head out with my photography kit in head to toe camouflage and take photos of wild animals, play video games, read books on subjects like philosophy and nature, and play guitar fairly badly!
