About Tom Hinman
Educator and Businessman, Tom Hinman is a 36 year veteran of the aerospace community. He is currently the Aviation Programs Manager for Pima Community College, and he holds fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities for their FAR147 program. Previously, Mr. Hinman occupied the post of Director of Training and Community Relations for Evergreen. In this capacity, he was responsible for the operations of the aviation and law enforcement training center at Pinal Air Park in Arizona. As such, he had charge of the technical education of hundreds of A&P, Avionics, and Structures personnel. Credited with training more than students, Mr. Hinman’s graduates include members of NASA, the FAA and Air Force One personnel. Active and enterprising, Mr. Hinman has procured millions of dollars in training grants and was responsible for obtaining the recent donation of an Federal Express aircraft to Pima College (2012). He was honored by U.S. Secretary of Labor Solis and U.S. Representative “Gabby” Gifford for his workforce development efforts in 2010; and, he was a co-founder of a (JTED) Technical High School district in 2007.
