About Tom Jaekel

I am a graduate student at the University of Washington earning my Master’s of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership. I have three years of experience in athletic communications serving as the primary media contact for Nevada Softball and Tennis in my most recent role. While working in the Nevada Strategic Communications Office, I was a full-time undergraduate students, earning my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Management in three years. My passion for telling athletes’ stories and finding niche statistics (follow my X: Tom__Jaekel for those) as well as my attention to detail and work ethic drive me to be the best SID I can be. The work I put in as a student worker to grow in the field has prepared me for any role at any institution or team. I’ve worked next to SIDs for NCAA tournament basketball teams and an FBS program that attracts all of the local media attention. My detailed observation and desire to learn makes me fit for any challenge in athletic communications. I am searching for work in college or professional athletic communications of any kind.
