About Tom Keenoy

Proven design team leader in Enterprise UX and Product Design focused on cybersecurity. 25 years of experience in web and digital product design & strategy. Some of the roles I've had over my career include: Product Designer Digital agency owner Startup founder User Experience Researcher Educator & mentor Front end engineer Team builder I integrate sophisticated interactive experiences, technical processes, and solid cognitive psychology concepts with advanced, user-centric functionality. My background in design, time spent as a developer, and keen understanding of business and marketing allow me a rare overall perspective needed to develop and implement sound digital product solutions from the strategy and planning level to the finest details of execution. In 2013, I founded Kitestrings, a password manager for teams, and oversaw the product from conception through several rounds of UX development and product launch. I also taught design and web development from for ten years at Pratt Institute, co-developing the Communications Design department's web design curriculum and teaching the department's first distance learning offering, and more recently at North Island College in the Digital Design department. In 2019 I made the decision to leave my agency and startup to take a role on a team for a new cybersecurity product offering from Secureworks, which eventually became Taegis XDR. I was one of the first three hires on the new design team, which I've helped to grow and mature over the last few years. In that time I've worked on our design system, helped to establish Figma as the team's design tool, worked closely with produce management and engineering on empowered teams across the breadth of the product, conducted user research and testing, designed new features that achieved valueable UX and business outcomes, and mentored other designers. Most recently I was selected to lead a team of designers and researchers to build experiences that cross over between the siloed functional teams that underpin the engineering based organizational structure of the product.
