About Tom Kundig

Over the course of his career, architect Tom Kundig has received a number of honors for his innovative home and commercial designs. Owner and principal designer of Olson Kundig Architects, he has earned recognition from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), including 2013 National Honor Awards for his Charles Smith Wines and Art Stable projects. Tom Kundig has also received many AIA National Housing Awards, Seattle Honor Awards, and Northwest and Pacific Region Awards. In addition, he recently secured the Residential Architect Design Awards' Grand Award for a custom home of more than square feet. Also the recipient of the American Academy of Arts and Letters' prestigious Academy Award in Architecture, as well as the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum's National Design Award in Architecture, Tom Kundig has created work featured in numerous national and global publications. He has appeared in The New York Times as well as The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, Architectural Digest, and many other periodicals. Mr. Kundig regularly shares his expertise as a critic, juror, and lecturer at colleges and universities nationwide, including Harvard University and Syracuse University College of Architecture.
