International forest products trade and logistics specialist with more than 30 years’ experience developing new markets. Currently managing Growth Strategy and Operations for Greenfield LLC, an asset-based company that procures, transloads and exports forest products from the Americas to Asia-Pacific markets. Heading up Greenfield's North Carolina and Alabama operations and serving as a senior adviser for the company, Tom works to formulate partnerships, joint ventures and organic growth, and has led the rapid expansion of the company’s operations to six export log yard locations during its first year of business. Tom also manages Greenfield's hardwood log export program and growth strategy and directs capital construction projects in its North Carolina operations. Formerly the President of PLS International LLC, Tom pioneered the export of plantation logs to China from export facilities in British Columbia, California, Oregon, Washington, and the U.S. Southeast. He maintains long-standing log trading relationships in Germany, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Uruguay and frequently gives presentations on global log trade. Greenfield LLC offers end-to-end export logistics, including export sales and marketing, export documentation, and trade services. Its competitive advantage lies in its vertical integration with logging, trucking, fumigation services and yard/port operations, plus its expertise in developing markets in China, India and Vietnam.
