Background
About Tom Molyneux
Ngata (hello). I am a proud Gunditjmara man and a creative professional with training across numerous fields. I currently work at Monash University Performing Arts Centres (MPAC) as the Senior Producer, First Nations, uplifting Indigenous creative programming across all of our activities and venues. Recently I was the Manager, Indigenous Inclusion in the Office of Indigenous Strategy & Innovation at Deakin University. I supported the delivery of Deakin's First Nations Education and Employment Strategies, as well as developing initiatives to increase access, outreach, success and retention for Indigenous students. I'm a theatre actor, director & playwright, working across many projects over 15 years, and am a founding member of the award-winning ensemble 'Bloomshed'. I received the 2023 Green Room Award for Best Performer (Independent Theatre) for my solo performance in 'The Mission', which toured Australia in 2022. I hold several arts and NFP governance positions. I am licensed by Mental Health First Aid Australia to deliver Aboriginal Mental Health First Aid (AMHFA) training, please reach out if this is of interest. I also have a strong history of working in customer-facing roles, including at Victoria's biggest theme park Adventure Park Geelong - coordinating memberships, group bookings & guest services, as well as supervising a small team. This was a fast-paced & demanding working environment, with up to guests visiting on any given day, including corporate events & school excursion packages that I facilitated & delivered for groups anywhere between people. My passions are many: finding, developing, writing, producing or supporting new stories, & employing my various artistic skill sets to bring them to life. Another is the promotion of human rights, equality, access to justice & education, and Caring for Country. I am passionate about increasing access to opportunity, especially in tertiary education & the arts, for First Nations People. I hold a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Performing Arts (LLB/BPA) from Monash University, a Graduate Certificate in Management from the Australian Institute of Business, and a Master of Business (Arts & Cultural Management) from Deakin University. I am a graduate of the Executive Indigenous Leadership Program at UNSW. I am also available for freelance work in theatre, film and TV as an actor. For more information about my working credits, please follow the link to my StarNow profile. To pitch a story or creative project, please don't hesitate to send me a message, or visit
