About Tom Monroe

Tom dedicates his practice to commercial lending, complex civil litigation, trust and estate administration and trust and estate litigation. He has appeared as lead trial counsel in numerous jury and bench trials before the New Jersey Superior Court. Tom has also appeared before the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, the United States Bankruptcy Court, the United States District Court, Southern District of New York (pro hac vice) and the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York (pro hac vice). Tom has provided counsel and litigated matters for some of the nation’s largest corporations and financial institutions. Additionally, he has represented small businesses, family businesses and individuals. In the complex civil litigation context, Tom frequently represents major companies and financial institutions in matters involving commercial contracts, creditor-debtor disputes, commercial paper, negotiable instruments, torts and other disputes governed by the Uniform Commercial Code. In addition to his litigation practice,Tom has extensive experience in Trust and Estate Administration. In this area, he provides counsel to private banking and trust departments related to their role, duties and responsibilities as corporate trustees under New Jersey law. He also has experience with the proper administration of special needs trusts and charitable trusts. Advice is also provided to individual trustees, conservators, administrators, executors and beneficiaries.
