Tom has 39 years of successful experience in integrating operations, planning and program development within a variety of healthcare settings, Former President and CEO of Mount Nittany Medical Center, in State College Pennsylvania, He spearheaded efforts to position the Medical Center for growth as a regional leader. He developed collaborative projects with nearby Penn State; added speciality services; began and incorporated the Medical Center Foundation; and launched a successful capital campaign. His detailed approach to operations and development earned him the American College of Healthcare Executives Regent's Award for service to his profession in 2005. The American Hospital Dubai commissioned Dubai's first Radiation Oncology program. This event completed a longterm plan to develop a comprehensive oncology service. Outpatient Rehabilitation, and Transitional Care were also started during his time there. Prior to coming to The American Hospital, Tom served in healthcare leadership and consulting positions in State College, Pennsylvania, Lexington, Kentucky, Columbia, Missouri and Cleveland, Ohio. He has served as the CEO of four institutions. While in Lexington, he expanded the role of the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation and facilitated the purchase of the St. Joseph East facility. While at the University of Missouri he developed the Children's Hospital, and was responsible for merging the Ellis Fischel State Cancer Hospital into the University Health System. As a volunteer, he served as Board Chair for the Centre County United Way and, 2005 Campaign Chair for the Centre County United Way. He has served on 2 YMCA Boards and led a successful hospital/YMCA collaboration initiative and Chair of the Board of Visitors for Penn State's Graduate Program in Health Administration. He was recently named to the SCN, Inc./Members Board.
