I am a problem solver. An electrical engineering generalist with >15 years of renewables design, construction and operational expertise. I am commercially savvy, but able to grasp all technical topics and understand their practical implications (and the limitations of desktop studies). Although most of my power engineering professional life has involved wind farms, I do not consider myself a wind-farm specialist. The technology and design processes involved with wind farming are equally applicable in a general engineering sense - operational procedures, quality control, equipment specification, asset management, engineering standards etc. I understand job requirements (contractual and operational) and my job is not complete until the asset is functioning perfectly - so it will never be 100% complete. Inefficiency irritates me. If an asset is not functioning to its fullest potential, I am motivated to improve it. Improvements may be achieved by altering protection settings, equipment specifications, control strategies or operational procedures - if there is a problem, I will find it and improve it.
