About Tom Nenniger

I am deeply committed to creating meaningful impact through my work, particularly in areas that contribute to sustainability and the energy transition. Currently, I work for Peak Power, a BTM (Behind-the-Meter) battery energy storage and DER (Distributed Energy Resources) provider. Peak Power empowers businesses across industries to participate in the clean energy transition by providing battery technology that can collect energy when it’s cheap, clean, and abundant to use, and deploying it when the grid is dirty, expensive, or strained. Previously, I worked for NovaVen, a start-up incubator/consultancy where I helped clients navigate complex challenges, adapt their business models, and strategically position their products for success in the Canadian market. The dynamic nature of start-up consulting gave me the opportunity to develop a diverse skill set across various industries, allowing me to drive innovation and foster sustainable growth. In addition to my consulting work, I have had the privilege of learning about renewable energy and sustainable engineering under the mentorship of my uncle (John Nenniger), an inventor and chemical engineer in the field. His career has sparked my growing interest in renewable energy and engineering innovations that reduce carbon footprints, particularly those that provide scalable solutions for combating climate change. Before joining NovaVen, I spent five years at Camp Wenonah, where I held various leadership roles. My experience there taught me how to quickly understand and empathize with others, view situations from multiple perspectives, and lead with both empathy and strategic thinking. These experiences have helped me develop strong interpersonal skills, making me a capable leader, communicator, and collaborator.
