About Tom Potter

With over 20 years of architectural experience, Tom is Studio Principal for P+HS in Leeds, whilst also Associate and Healthcare Lead for the Practice. An enthusiastic and conscientious Architect, Tom has led an extensive portfolio of projects, focusing on sustainable primary and acute healthcare developments. Recently working on some of the Practice’s largest acute schemes, Tom has led the architectural delivery of new Emergency Departments across three hospital sites, whilst other schemes have included paediatric assessment, surgical departments, major trauma wards and endoscopy services. There’s no such thing as an easy site in a live hospital, so schemes have included the full range of new-build, extension, infill and refurbishment works, utilising traditional or modular construction within sensitive and heavily constrained site locations. Alongside the acute schemes, Tom has worked on many primary care schemes across the country, working with developers and GPs to adapt existing buildings or provide sustainable, new-build premises hosting multiple services. As part of the cross-office team of Healthcare Leads, Tom is responsible for ensuring that P+HS remain at the forefront of healthcare expertise, promoting exemplary design in the sector and sharing best-practice and specialist knowledge across project teams. With additional responsibility as Studio Principal for P+HS in Leeds, Tom is involved in all aspects of running the office, from recruitment and staff development to project resourcing and student placements.
