About Tom Rogers

Tom Rogers has over 24,400 hours as a pilot and can truly be considered an Aviation Expert. Tom has Flown over 68 types of general aviation aircraft, four types of military aircraft as an Instructor and fighter pilot for the USAF, and is Retired as a senior Captain at Alaska Airlines. He has operated aircraft on four Continents and is an experienced ETOPS Captain. Graduate of the Air Force Safety School, he has spent 50 years actively involved in aviation safety and accident investigation. Certified Instructor (CFI), formerly active in general aviation teaching float plane, Tail wheel operations, UPRT for GA Pilots, and CFI Candidate Spin Training in Bremerton Washington. In 2022 Tom was selected by the National Association of Flight Instructors as a Master CFI. He has also established himself as an engineer working on projects as varied as the cockpit design of the YF-22 and the East Coast airspace computer scheduling design. Recently he consulted with flight test at Eviation in Arlington WA. He was specifically authorized by the FAA to provide multi-engine instruction to certify test pilots for the first flight of Alice-2. He has risen to leadership and Command roles in the Air Force Reserve, Air Line Pilots Association, and Alaska Airlines. In October 2024, Tom will begin working for the FAA as an Aviation Safety Inspector with the Seattle Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). Living in the Seattle Area and Married 45 years to Catherine Wood with three sons; Brian Engineer at Boeing in Everett WA, Matthew a Financial Director living and working in Edinburgh Scotland, and Andrew a software developer.
