About Tom Rupp

I currently work for Hennepin County as a Senior Financial Management Analyst of the Human Services and Public Health and the Disparity Reduction lines of business overseeing $0.7 billion in public funds. My professional experience includes but is not limited to: data science (Power BI, Cognos, SQL), budget analysis, forecasting, continuous improvement, Innovation by Design, LEAN, project management, public policy; budget management, contract negotiation, labor negotiation and board management. I was elected to a second term on the Minnesota Public Employees Retirement System Board of Trustees and currently serve as Vice President. I have previously served as the Board Chair and as Treasurer at River's Edge Academy, an expeditionary learning public charter high school in St. Paul. Which serves a greater than 50 percent special education and students experiencing poverty population, and a majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Previously served as Chair of the Millennial Employee Resource Group (MERG) at Hennepin County. I have a passion for public service, education, retirement stability and making space for people to grow and succeed.
