About Tom Schults

I am the Managing Director and Owner of Mobicon Systems, a company that designs and manufactures light weight straddle carriers for the logistics industry and for end users of shipping containers. I have over 29 years of experience in this role, and I am also a mechanical and automotive engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for innovation. My mission is to provide solutions that resolve the issues that companies face when handling containerized goods, such as yard damage, low clearance, and limited space. I have designed and patented several models of Mobicon straddle carriers that have unique features, such as a four-axle design that reduces wheel weight, a low profile that allows operation under awnings and inside warehouses, and a stacking capability that increases storage efficiency. I have also received a BHP-Steel award for my innovative design and sold Mobicons worldwide to a wide range of clients in diverse industries, such as steel, paper, food, mining, building, wine, defence, and border protection. I have also designed and sold special Mobicons to the US Navy that work inside LCS ships. I am committed to research and development and constantly improving my products and services by listening to my clients and understanding their needs. I have a high-quality after-sales service team that offers maintenance and support to my customers. I am a leader in the logistics and container handling field and I strive to deliver excellence and value to my clients and stakeholders.
