About Tom Sullivan

I have been passionate about taking things apart and putting them back together (mostly) since I read “The Way Things Work” when I was young. Since then, I have been passionate about solving problems, fixing things, and constantly learning. I am a passionate, entrepreneurial, and data driven leader working to solve complex business problems with a mix of process optimization, analytics, and automation technologies. I have a passion for creating, scaling, and operationalizing a strategic vision to ensure its sustainability within an enterprise. Currently, I am a senior manager of software engineering leading a team to build and deliver the internal ModelOps / MLOps product to Discover. Our goal is to build the core product that greatly reduces the production deployment time of machine learning models. Formerly, I was the manager and tech lead on Discover’s enterprise internal consulting team. We tackled business problems using statistical analysis, process optimization, and robotic process automation (RPA). We partnered closely with senior executives to ensure the success of strategic initiatives. I am also an experienced consultant and operations professional with exposure to the Life Sciences and Consumer Products industries. In my past roles, I led small teams to optimize processes and implement enterprise software. These roles improved my ability to lead cross-functional teams while focusing on people and organizational impacts of change. In the pursuit of continuous self-improvement, I am currently enrolled in a Masters of Analytics at Georgia Tech University to better understand the tools, techniques, and platforms used in statistical analysis, data visualization, machine learning, and software engineering.
