About Tom Vriens

I have spent the majority of my working life in the medical supplies industry, starting with a few hours after high school during the week, picking and packing orders. After high school for several years I spent most of my time around tennis courts, coaching beginners, through to world-ranked juniors aspiring to be professional players. I joined Team Medical Supplies in 2013 where I moved between a number of roles from sales, customer service, IT and marketing. At the same time, I completed a bachelor in Business Management, which allowed me to grow into managerial roles as the organisation grew. In 2020, I moved into the role of General Manager, overseeing all teams and their leaders. Team Medical has grown from 15 staff to over 120 staff since I joined. Managing people and teams has come to be what I enjoy most. Business in general fascinates me and the challenge of growing and achieving organisational goals excites me. Following this, technology, and how it can help drive positive impacts for organisations and people also interest me. My exposure to high performing athletes where the absolute highest levels of discipline and drive are required to succeed, along with the growth journey of Team Medical, has taught me that leading people and achieving goals require a number of approaches. However, persistence, consistency, positivity, hard work, empathy, a growth mindset, and fun, are all must haves when achieving your goals. I'm an executive director at Team Medical and am a graduate (GAICD) with the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
