About Tom Wilson

Tom Wilson is the chair, president, and CEO of The Allstate Corporation. He has been CEO since 2007 and became chair of The Allstate Corporation's board of directors in 2008. He has held key leadership positions in all major operating units at the company since 1995. Wilson led Allstate through the global financial crisis, adaptation to climate change and post-pandemic inflation. In recent years, he has transformed the company through innovative strategic moves, including the purchase of National General in 2020, the sale of Allstate’s life insurance and annuity businesses in 2021, the shift to a distributed workforce, and offering customers simple, affordable, connected protection for every facet of their lives. Wilson’s approach is to harness the power of purpose and a belief in empowering individuals to drive systemic change in society. He is a public advocate for business playing a broad role in improving society by focusing on four objectives: serving customers, creating opportunity for employees, generating returns for investors and improving communities. Wilson has held leadership roles in business and non-profit organizations. He is involved with the Aspen Institute to improve trust in America; Realize the Dream to mobilize 100 million hours of volunteer service by 2029 to honor Martin Luther King Jr.’s 100th birthday; P33, an initiative focused on accelerating Chicago's leadership in the digital economy; OneTen, a corporate initiative to upskill, hire and promote one million people into family-sustaining jobs; and he co-founded GetIN Chicago to reduce youth violence. He serves as chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and is a past chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce board of directors. Wilson is also a member of the Business Roundtable, CEO Roundtable and the Aspen Economic Strategy Group. He previously served as chair of the Financial Services Roundtable, Property-liability CEO Roundtable, deputy chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and director of State Street Corporation.
