About Tom Woerdeman

I started work as a Firefighter/EMT for 8 years specializing in wildland firefighting and medical care. Then I moved to fire inspections after Graduating Cum Laude with a B.S. in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University. Doing fire inspections, I worked in many diverse industries including being the mine fire inspector for 2 years with I then moved into construction materials testing, evaluating large and small construction sites including DoD, Federal, State, Local, and private jobs for compliance to standards and specifications. I became the Safety Director for Transit Mix Concrete Company in 2016, managing safety for 6 concrete batch plants, 3 active mine site, 3 inactive mine sites, 2 construction supply divisions, 2 door divisions including a locksmith shop. In 2018, I became a Co-Chair of the Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association and Colorado Stone, Sand, and Gravel association Joint Safety Committee. As a Task Force Leader, I coordinated the development of the Mine Safety Institute and their online learning management system for Part 46 New Miner Training. In 2018, I also obtained my NRMCA Ready Mixed Concrete Safety Professional Certification. I enjoy constantly expanding my knowledge base and staying at the forefront of upcoming trends.In 2019, I started at American Engineering Testing as a Senior Engineering Technician and was promoted later that year to CMT Project Manager. In 2023 I was promoted again to the Duluth/International Falls Operations Supervisor. My responsibilities, among continued field testing and inspection, include project managment, estimating/quote preparation, report review, staff management, including daily leadership, operations coordination, mentorship, and training.
