About Tomas Maly

When I started to orient myself towards IT the hardest part was to decide what my focus should be. After completing my chosen course at "Australian College of Information Technology" in Gold Coast I really had liked Networking, so I have also taken and completed the CCNA certificate. I'm still using these skills in my current job but to a much lesser degree. As after some time I have started to learn and use Perl (and shell scripting). Also partially "SQL, php, HTML, JavaScript" as supporting 'tools' to my scripting. I really enjoy working with Perl while writing various scripts (either used directly on our Unix based servers by users or to get, compile and enrich various data mainly from our SQL DBs to then send out reports). This has become a big part of my daily duties but I'd still like for it to be an even bigger part in the near future. My main objective is to work on my Perl and other related skills, still working on new scripts and taking new courses when possible. Even expand my knowledge with other programming languages similar to Perl if an opportunity for application arises.
