About Tomas Stenarson

I'm a hands-on software developer with a broad background in mobile, AR, simulation, and system development — with experience spanning defence, telecom, mobile, e-commerce, online gambling, and academia. Over the years, I've worked on everything from real-time flight simulators and AR navigation systems to large-scale consumer apps used by millions of users. I have more than 15 years of experience working on augmented reality and spatial technologies across platforms including iOS, visionOS, Android, Meta Quest, and the web. My AR work includes projects built with ARKit, RealityKit, ARCore, Unity, SceneView, WebXR, and PlayCanvas — always selecting the right tool for the job. Beyond AR, I've built native mobile apps in Swift, SwiftUI, Objective-C, Kotlin, and C#, and developed backend, web and distributed systems using JavaScript, Python, and C/C++. I've contributed to projects on platforms ranging from Unix-based simulators to modern cloud-based mobile architectures. Throughout my career, I've worked closely with designers, researchers, product owners, and engineers to deliver reliable, maintainable software — whether in early-stage R&D or production-critical systems. I'm comfortable jumping between platforms and problem domains, and I enjoy the challenge of adapting to new contexts and technologies. I'm always interested in opportunities to design and build high-quality software — independently or as part of a collaborative team.
