About Tomas van Respaille

I am a cultural professional holding master’s degrees in History (2014) and Law (2017) from Ghent University. From 2018 to March 2025, I worked at Bozar – Centre for Fine Arts Brussels as Institutional Advisor and Project Manager specialized in international cultural relations. My role centered on the support of artistic creation, capacity building for artists and cultural professionals, and cultural policy research. This happened mainly through the coordination of multinational cooperation projects focused on, but not limited to, Europe and the Arab world. Additionally, I contributed to Bozar's strategic development as part of the Institutional Relations department. In a volunteer role, I serve as Vice President and Board Member at Daughters for Life Europe, a nonprofit that provides scholarships and support to young women from the Middle East to study in Europe. In 2018, I served as a Trainee at the Embassy of Belgium in Cairo. Thanks to my professional and academic experience, I was able to develop research skills, an understanding of the international cultural scene and cultural relations, and skills related to strategic planning. I am fluent in Dutch, English, and French.
