About Tomasz Gradowski
I am a Registered Professional Biologist and a Professional Agrologist. I specialize in soil and vegetation ecology. Since my graduation from the University of Toronto with a PhD in forest ecology (2006), my work involved environmental effects assessment, preparation of mitigation and reclamation plans for mines, soil and vegetation surveys, ecological site classification, terrain and soil mapping, preparation of baseline reports, literature review, and statistical data analysis. My environmental consulting work involved projects in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Saskatchewan. My main interests relate to: 1. Reclamation of decommissioned mines and other disturbed sites. Monitoring and mitigation of atmospheric deposition, salinity, and soil acidity associated with mining and industrial processing. Effects of various disturbances on soil chemistry and structure, vegetation composition, and ultimately, on native ecosystem regeneration. Specialties: Soil Science, Vegetation Ecology, Land Reclamation
