Tomasz Rogula, MD, PhD, FACS is a Faculty at 3 Universities - Associate Professor of Surgery at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH, USA, a Professor of Surgery at the JKU University School of Medicine in Kielce, Poland and a Professor of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. He is a former Chief of General Surgery Division, Director of Gastrointestinal Metabolic Surgery Center, Residency Program Director and a Co-Director of Bariatric Surgery at the University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center and a former Staff Surgeon and Associate Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.Dr. Rogula has done pioneering research on novel weight-loss surgery procedures. He published 55 articles and 22 book chapters on topics of bariatric and laparoscopic surgery and is a peer reviewer for the journal of Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases and Guest Editor for Journal of Obesity and Annals of Surgical Innovation and Research. He is an Editor of newly published textbook "Prevention and Management of Complications in Bariatric Surgery" recently published by the Oxford University Press. Dr Rogula initiated the Bariatric Clinical Program for Medical Students at the Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. He was awarded for his medical innovations and holds pending patents for new surgical devices. International LeaderHe is a founder and President of the International Bariatric Club – a global bariatric network gathering nearly surgeons from all around the World. IBC is affiliated with the Oxford University and Organizes World Congress every year. After returning to Poland he created the International Bariatric Clinic and the Obesity Treatment Center at the NeoHospital in Krakow. The Clinic and the Center meets the highest standards for patients satisfaction, quality of care and safety. He has been recently appointed as the Chief Experience Officer at the prestigious Jagiellonian University Hospital in Krakow, Poland where he collaborates with the Cleveland Clinic on providing the World Class Patients Experience. He became the fist European Chief Experience Officer. Prof. Rogula also became the Chairman of the Joint Advisory Council to work with the Cleveland Clinic on significant changes in healthcare system in Poland.
