About Tomera Sheets
With a past in Japanese language and culture studies, I have transitioned into the the world of education. My past studies included studying, teaching, and volunteering abroad in Japan from the years 2011 to 2016. Working abroad in Japan with students of varying ages taught me that I enjoyed working with children and I thus began working with young children in 2017, beginning at Kindercare. Several opportunities during this transitioned allowed me to pursue a licensure program with UW-Milwaukee by 2018, completing the program in 2020. This fall 2023, I will stepping into my 3rd year teaching 5th grade. I am always seeing opportunities outside after hours during the school year as well as summer opportunities. Future positions may involve working with children, child development, lesson planning, facilitating teambuilding opportunities, and teacher assistant positions. I am also open to other new experiences outside of education during breaks and summer months.
