Treat your future self as you would your closest friend". It is an approach that I take not only in my personal life, but in the way I think work should be done. Anyone would take the time to improve the way something is done now to make life easier for their closest friend, why should you do any different when it comes to yourself? I have a passion for automation and process improvement. Whether it be automation to reduce the chance of human error or managing a process to ensure that files are organized in a sensible way for accessibility in the future. At my first corporate gig with Wesgroup Equipment I learned a great deal working with a team that was passionate about automation and developed advanced excel skills to help manage million dollar floor plans and to prepare working papers that were necessary for month end reporting. I brought what I had learned to Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers to assist in analysis of important financial statement line items, various monthly duties, and to assist with preparing quarterly forecasts. I have also developed a formal framework for debt covenant reporting which allowed me to develop a deep understanding credit facilities for large public companies.
