About Tommy Rigall

Starting from 2017, I worked as a researcher student at IMSIA - ENSTA Paris on airfoil acoustic field and flow, for wind turbines or underwater applications. I modified a computational code called Code_Safari to include silent inflow synthetic turbulence. Furthermore, I implemented 3 scientific formulations in a second code called Code_Saturne, to compute the noise generated by the interaction between the flow and the airfoil. I also numerically studied the behavior of an aerodynamic structure, called a laminar separation bubble, facing an inflow turbulence with the help of an intern that I was responsible for with my supervisor. Finally, I co-led a second intern on the separation and stall noise mechanisms through numerical simulations. Unfortunately, I could not finalize my research, because of a life accident. After a recovery of several months, I strongly wanted to come back to work and I chose computer programming, because I could use my critical thinking together with my taste for lines of code. In october 2022, I was hired by Fortil and I took a 3-months training program in theoretical and practical development in modern C++. Then, I took a task for SopraSteria as a subcontractor. I was in charge of the support of a MBSE Airbus code called SimBA, after some months to develop new skills, essential for this task. It includes technical skills in MATLAB and in debugging C++ code with Qt Creator, but also soft skills such as customer contact. I trained a newcomer on the SimBA code with a great pleasure, as always when I can transfer some skills, and teach. Recently, I had the chance to train myself in C/C++ with GStreamer, to handle streaming media flows. Finally, I followed an independent learning on Docker compose and Jenkins. I wish now to expand my horizon and find a new mission or job. I have three professional leads that could be a good fit, thanks to my skills, as a junior worker. The first lead is to continue working as a developer to expand my skill in C/C++. I can also follow a training on other languages such as Java or Python if needed. I also have an appetency and skills, developed during my thesis, for modelling or numerical simulations such as CFD or CAA, that could be useful as an engineer. This is the second lead. Finally, teaching to students is my third lead as I already taught to students in engineering school and to secondary school pupil as a volunteer. For these three leads, I wish to apply my scientific approach, my critical reasoning and my rigor with a strong commitment.
