North Wales-based audiologist at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd/Glan Clwyd Hospital. My main responsibilities are to provide audiologic assessment and rehabilitation of adult patients with hearing loss and related disorders referred from Primary Care and otolaryngology (ENT). I am currently working towards full registration with the Registration Council of Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)/ Academy of Healthcare Science (ACS) Audiology is the scientific study of hearing, balance and related disorders. Audiologists use applied knowledge of areas in anatomy and physiology, psychophysics, electrophysiology, neurology, counselling and clinical linguistics, to assess hearing and balance function. I have had research related to earwax management and removal published in the British Journal of General Practice (BJGP). I maintain clinical interests in audiology as a continuing practice within care of the elderly and understanding the relationship between hearing and balance impairment and neurodegenerative disease such as dementia and Alzheimer’s. I am keen to specialise in routine screening for individuals with intellectual disabilities and cognitive impairments (e.g. dementia) and neuro-audiology.
