Ten years as Director of State Networks for Middle Grades w/Southern Regional Education Board - worked with state departments of education to identify schools and implement research-based improvement framework. Work with schools and districts to implement improvement frameworks and best educational practices in schools/classrooms.Conducts nationwide professional development workshops, specifically in the areas of aligning curriculum and developing assignments and assessments linked to the CCSS, standards-based grading and classroom practices, and developing high quality rubrics.High School Principal at large high schools in two states. Designed and implemented programs to significantly improve SAT, ACT, AP, and state achievement scores, partnered with staff to prioritize budget requests, implemented student advisory committees and after school programs.Middle School Principal: opened new school for growth: partnered with new staff to develop instructional and extra-curricular programs from the ground up, implemented several programs to get students involved with school such as dances, pep rallies, test prep days, etc. Coordinated the design of the school mascot and football field and all necessary resources; our school's Teacher of the Year named district TOTY 4 of our first 5 years.HS English Teacher 13 years, TOTY in year 11.
