Odissi Clothing is a Clothing & home wares business offering beautiful high quality cotton, hand embroidered Day wear. Meditation originally took me to India,but a love for meditation,textiles,travel,cultures, & spirituality keeps me engaged with India. I worked and lived in India for 3 years,working for Intrepid Travel, and upon arrival back to Melbourne, began to work for a designer,assisting in manufacturing and working with artisans in India to create beautiful creative clothing in India to sell Australia wide,this inspired me to work further with artisans in India and create my own Clothing & home wares business,having had extensive experience with India in both the workforce & personal life, I am Melbourne born, but live in Byron Bay NSW. The business Odissi ( & former homewares business ‘ Dhola Maru ‘ which I operated in Darwin) was inspired by wanting to live partly in India & partly in Australia. It is simple beginnings, but seems to work particularly well in Byron Bay given the tropical climate. It is important for me to keep a working relationship between India & Australia in the various forms I have & will in the future,as it is a great platform in which to blend the two cultures in daily life.I also run small tours on my yearly return to India of which I still enjoy.
