About Tonte Lawson

With over 8 years of experience in infrastructure investment and investment management, I am passionate about creating value and impact in emerging markets, whether through strategic and sustainable investments, or technology-fueled innovations and solutions. I am currently an MBA Candidate at Columbia Business School, where I am a Chazen Institute Scholar and the Co-President of the Africa Business Club. Previously, I was an investment associate at NSIA, managing a portfolio of externally managed funds across various asset classes and sectors, and contributed to the origination, evaluation, execution, and monitoring of direct investments in infrastructure projects in Nigeria. I also completed a 3-month internship at ZCG, where I was part of the private equity team in sourcing and screening of potential investments in the US middle market, and of potential add-ons to portfolio investments. Through these roles, I developed strong skills in project and portfolio management, due diligence, operations management, financial analysis, and market and investment research. I aspire to leverage my skills and knowledge to generate positive social and environmental outcomes, especially for the African region.
