About Tony Budge

Having worked at the pinnacle of IT networking and data centre design and support for many years, I found myself increasingly called in at the 11th hour to rescue problematic projects. This led to a formal career change into program and project management in 2012. Over the last decade, I have successfully planned and led complex change initiatives, delivering sustained and valued outcomes. Major achievements include: • Design and implementation of a new core network and data centre for the WA Department of Education, noting that the Department has a jurisdiction of over 800 public schools, supporting over users, spread over the largest geographic network in the southern hemisphere. • Planning for and directing the transition-in of multiple complex outsourced ICT contracts for Kinetic IT: o Australian Taxation Office for SIAM and ITIL services o Victoria Police for full-scope ICT services o Department of Defence for ICT Service Desk and SIAM services o Water Corporation WA for full-scope ICT services Throughout my career, I have developed effective experience across multiple facets of business activity, including: • Tendering, including Target Operating Model and solution design • Contract negotiation, due diligence, planning and leading complex transition-in (and transition-out) programs • Governance, risk, and compliance • Process design and implementation • Managed Services delivery and consulting • Management of Kinetic IT’s national Enterprise Architecture office and architects • Establishing and championing Community of Practise groups • Formal mentoring and coaching of peers, including voluntary mentoring of UWA students through the Career Mentor Link program • Development and stewardship of best practice frameworks, including continual development of process, training, and templates As a respected problem solver and achiever, I am comfortable applying my experience by rolling up my sleeves and assisting crew at the frontline through to setting a vision and leading teams to success. I am a valued team member within the workplace, always sharing my knowledge and supporting teams to be successful, and outside of work, evidenced through my running of various sporting teams (Badminton, Hockey, and Ultimate Frisbee,) which I still enjoy and am active with today.
