About Tony Day

Served as the Treasurer for the Tribal Council of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi.Served on Tribal Council 2011 to 2017.In 2015 reappointed by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder to the Talent Investment Board. Served on the Calhoun County Workforce Development Board. Served as Chairman of the Audit Committee providing oversight to FireKeepers Casino Hotel Audit Committee. Served as Chairman of the Acquisition component of the Land Task Force Committee, Chaired the Tribal Environmental Advisory Committee (TEAC), and Veteran's Committee. Tony is the former General Manager of Skasge Power LLC, a subsidiary of the Tribe. Lead the research and development of the Tribe's solar photovoltaic and thermal project. Proven leader with more than 20 years of experience leading and executing operational excellence in various organizations. Adept at working with Governmental agencies at the Federal, State, Local and Tribal levels to positively impact results including grants, funding, lobbying and networking. Skilled in strategic planning, goal setting, budgeting, managing multiple facets of an organization in various environments, and controlling revenues and expenses. Experienced in leadership, direction and motivation to varied work teams. Instrumental in the establishment of the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship - a stop on the Symetra Tour : Road to the LPGA and the FireKeepers 400 held at the Michigan International Speedway as part of the NASCAR sprint car series.
