About Tony Edwards

Experienced software engineer with a long history of shipping production software, from industry leading desktop applications to cloud solutions and software as a service (SaaS). Currently I am working in the Cloud Admin and Tools group at Microsoft, where we are responsible for the technologies that enable the continuous deployment of Visual Studio Team Service (VSTS) to Microsoft Azure data centers around the world. We also produce the management and configuration tools for the on-premise version of the service (TFS). Before joining Microsoft, I co-founded MicroPlanet, Inc, an internet startup that created the award-winning Gravity newsreader. I later negotiated its sale to Anawave, Inc, a Newport Beach CA internet service provider. I have written software for a variety of industries, including insurance, luxury goods, point of sale, stock portfolio management, email systems, and others. I am passionate about building products that help customers succeed and that are reliable and simple to use.
