About Tony Walker

Tony Walker is a Certified Rehabilitation Professional as well as a Registered Environmental Manager and a Certified Public Manager. He currently serves as Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Nothing Just Happens Inc. The primary mission this organization is to advocate for youth and young adults aging out of foster care. Our goal is to ensure that these young men are prepared for independent adult living by equipping them with the requisite life and social skills to succeed. Tony holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After briefly working in the private sector, he went to work with the City of Dallas(Local Government). His experiences with the City of Dallas include fire and rescue, emergency response, hazardous material response and emergency medical care. In 1991, after approximately five years with the City of Dallas, he came to work for Texas Water Commission as a Petroleum Storage Tank Field Investigator. In November of 1993, he was named the Team Leader for the Field Operations Division's Region 4 PST/Stage II Section. Duties specifically included implementing agency programs in the regional office. He also established goals and missions ensuring that inspections were conducted in accordance with defined strategies. In June of he was promoted to Air Section Manager in the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) DFW office. Duties generally include directing the work of three teams through three team/work leaders. He directs, coordinates, and supervises the work of subordinate employees. He also advises senior management on programmatic issues and the impact to the region and agency. In July of 2006, Tony was selected as the Director of the TCEQ DFW Regional Office. Tony served as director of that office until he retired from State service in 2019. Upon retirement Tony has focused his energy on growing and developing the programs of Nothing Just Happens.
