About Tope Ogunbi

Switching careers from core pharmacy practice to public health, my focus was on creating lasting impact. With over 15 years in the public health space, my journey has been driven by a simple philosophy of putting people at the center of all that I do. What first drew me to public health was the opportunity to transform lives in a profound way, but it was the ability to stimulate change on a larger scale and in a lasting way that made me stay. I am obsessed with staying organized and supporting others to stay organized. I have enjoyed several years of leading small and large teams to implement complex projects, and recently developed a passion for startups. The feeling that comes from achieving key milestones on the start-up roadmap cannot be described, those who experience it want to move to the next startup. Right now, I am leading a country team to scale up health interventions to millions of vulnerable children within the 5-14 years bracket, annually my team provides technical support to the government of my country to reach over 7M adults and children. Programs in the pipeline can potentially reach tens of millions with live-saving interventions to create impact in a lasting way. I hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and degrees in Public Health and Project Management. I have fifteen (15) progressive years of experience managing programs in the areas of Malaria, Reproductive Health, Neglected Tropical Diseases, Social and Behaviour Change and System Strengthening. When I am not starting up a program or leading my team to develop new strategies and ideas, I’d be catching up on movies and sports. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing new perspectives.
