About Topi Unkila

Hello, my name is Topi Unkila, and I am a Lecturer at Länsirannikon Koulutus Oy WinNova, based in Pori, Finland. With a strong background as a paramedic working in advanced care ambulances and medical units alongside doctors, I bring several years of frontline experience into my teaching. I hold a Master of Healthcare and have completed my studies as a Vocational Teacher, which enables me to combine clinical expertise with effective, practice-oriented education. As an EMS educator and training officer, I am passionate about developing the next generation of professionals. My interests include simulation-based learning, patient safety, human factors, medical devices, and the continuous improvement of professional skills. I have hands-on expertise in acute care, simulations, medical devices, and ECG, and I am committed to staying up to date with the latest advancements in both emergency medicine and vocational education. Beyond work, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing bass guitar, going to the gym, and traveling to new places. I am always open to new opportunities to share knowledge, collaborate, and contribute to advancing healthcare education and practice. If you’re interested in connecting or exploring ways to work together, I’d be glad to hear from you.
