About Torben Fetzer

After my studies in industrial mathematics with a specialization in mathematical image processing, I joined the Augmented Vision group of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. Within almost 7 years as a researcher I focused on 3D reconstruction, auto-calibration, optical flow estimation and categorization using classical computer vision as well as neural network approaches. During my time at DFKI I worked on several research and industrial projects and gained insights into all facetts of innovative work. After finishing my PhD I joined the Data Analytics department of the Mercedes-Benz aftersales logistics to develop data-driven solutions in order to improve logistical processes. The desire for working again in my original field of expertise, image processing and computer vision, eventually led me to the Technology & Innovation department of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies. At this point I am developing and implementing solutions for automated optical quality control systems, jointly from hardware as well as from software side.
