About Torben Werner

With more than 15 years in investment management, I am responsible for Risk Management, Accounting & Controlling, and IT & Information Security. My mandate is to uphold an independent and effective risk-control framework under KAGB/AIFMD, ensure alignment of finance and risk reporting, and strengthen operational resilience in line with DORA. I work closely with the depositary and supervisory authorities to keep governance transparent, consistent, and audit-ready. Previously, as Head of Compliance & Risk, I established the company’s compliance and risk capabilities and contributed to industry working groups such as BVI. Today, my focus lies on risk governance and financial oversight at executive level, without combining market and control functions, and on embedding clear lines of accountability across the second line of defence. I closely follow regulatory developments in MiCA and tokenization to assess implications for risk, control, and reporting in permissible use cases. In the field of sustainability, I support the integration of EU-Taxonomy and SFDR requirements into risk and finance processes, ensuring that ESG objectives are embedded in models, limits, and disclosures. My goal is pragmatic governance: robust risk controls, reliable financials, secure IT and information security, and a constructive dialogue with investors, auditors, and regulators.
