She oversees the areas of Athletics, School Performance, Special Services, Curriculum Innovation and Design, Student Services, and the Technology Department, and supports the Superintendent in advancing the district's vision and goals. There, she has implemented strategic leadership for schools and principals to ensure academic success. She also reorganized and restructured NLRSD, adopted a grade level aligned K-8 curriculum, and established a Leadership Development program for current and aspiring leaders. Dr. Hooper has a Doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a wealth of experience in school leadership and improvement. She joined NLRSD in December 2021, after serving as a School Support Officer and as a Building Level Principal at the Houston Independent School District (HISD) for over five years. Dr. Hooper is dedicated to creating a culture of excellence and equity for all students and staff.
